Claude Code, Codex and Kimi give you a smarter tool — one agent you drive turn by turn. Hoop means to give you an organisation: you name the officers, they march, on a machine that is genuinely yours.
That is a difference of category, not of specification. They compete over whose single soldier is stronger; Hoop is about whether you have an army at all.

Three moats
Not "we are smarter" — that fight is unwinnable. These are three things they structurally cannot do, and would not want to.

A hosted model cannot give you a self-healing army on your own hardware

A business that keeps the compute inside the vendor's cloud cannot offer this. What runs today is our own formation: a durable queue, district command, three layers of watch, automatic fallback when a quota is hit. Putting the same thing in a customer's hands is under construction, not delivered.

Honesty built into the structure, not left to the model's conscience
Prove rather than claim; put your own chains on; never pass "configured correctly" off as "working". Even a broken guard is caught by another layer of guard.
The other half of being honest
Their single soldier is stronger, more mature, and better resourced. Do not meet them head-on over whose agent is smarter — the difference is not the soldier, it is the army, the sovereignty, the resilience and the culture together.
We are earlier, and the army is under construction. But the foundation was run for real: a durable queue, district contracts, one source of truth, gates that go red — not slides, but something running, and something we use ourselves every day.
